The artist has handed over the complete sum of his £25,000 honor winnings to the trust for venues, which operates to protect the UK's small music venues.

He was presented with the cheque on October 16 as his third album his work was declared the outstanding release of the last 12 months.

He has decided to donate the funds to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the vital role grassroots venues played in his initial steps.

"I personally wouldn't be doing this success if it wasn't for all the shows I did around the North East, and elsewhere, when I was beginning," stated Fender. "These spaces are renowned, but they are facing challenges."

Since the start of 2023, more than 150 of these spaces have shut down – approximately 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.

Over the past year, major artists including Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its initiatives to help venues survive, by adding a minor surcharge to their admission fees, which goes to help smaller concert halls.

He also participated, raising in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to assist 38 small stages across the UK.

These funds helped venues that were confronting potential shutdown due to issues caused by flooding, fire incidents and family tragedies, as well as permit problems, court cases and sound issues.

Additional spaces obtained financial assistance in upgrading amenities and gear that positively impacted performers and fans.

"The notion that money from concerts in large arenas helps the local stages, where it all starts for performers like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has stated.

In recent years, Ezra Collective donated their funds to the youth organization that developed their band, as well as other independent music bodies.

Additionally the 1994 recipients they donated their prize to a charity for MS after a close contact was found to have the condition.

"The victory was ample," remarked singer the singer. "The cash was the bonus but we didn't need the extra, because we had the cake. So our victory touched another person's life."

In the past week, the trust shared it had saved a couple of small stages in that region, by placing them under public stewardship.
