19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent the Russian player secured his initial championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, winning just one match at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden trophy following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after March of the previous year.
Success also indicates he has won 21 titles at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to force a third set.
Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
